Implementation & Action Frameworks

The Project

The CO Department of Transportation (CDOT) conducted a pilot project to encourage land use partners to adopt policies and build infrastructure that encourages  active transportation (walking, biking, transit use) in development projects.

Our Role

Equity Policy Solutions, in partnership with the Regional Institute for Health & Environmental Leadership, co-developed “Active Transportation in Land Use Development: A Sector-Specific Call to Action”. The action guide is tailored to 8 different land use sectors including public and private developers, lenders, architects, impact investors, market analysts, appraisers and local governments. We conducted stakeholder interviews and researched evidence-based best practices to create a ‘Call to Action’ to increase active transportation infrastructure throughout Colorado.
