Blueprint Denver

The Project 

Blueprint Denver is a Citywide land use and transportation plan that will shape growth and development over a 20-year horizon through complete neighborhoods and transportation networks and a measured approach to new growth.  For the first time, the City is implementing land use planning through the lens of social and racial equity, with an overarching goal of an ‘equitable, affordable and inclusive’ city.

Our Role 

While at the City of Denver,  Gretchen was a member of the Blueprint Denver City staff team representing public health and equity considerations in the plan.  She co-created and advocated for the Denver Neighborhood Equity Index to measure differences in neighborhood conditions and resident health that can be improved through more equitable public and private investment.  The Equity Index will be continuously measured as Blueprint is implemented
