The Project
The City of Denver developed its 2015 Climate Action Plan in response to the impacts of climate change due to rising greenhouse gas emissions, including increasing temperatures, severe storms, wildfires, flooding and drought. The Plan seeks to create policies and initiatives to minimize climate-altering emissions from the energy, building, and transportation sectors while promoting economic growth and environmental justice.
Our Role
The impacts of climate change and a warming environment are felt disproportionally by low-income communities, communities of color, older adults, people with disabilities and those with pre-existing medical conditions. While at the City of Denver, Gretchen conducted research and contributed policies and strategies to reduce inequities from the impacts of climate change and environmental injustice.
